Are you unpopular? Have you ever been or felt unpopular? Most people have. And if you’re striving to be a good leader and doing a good job of leading, then it has or will happen to you.
Leadership isn’t about popularity. In fact, the leader is often alone and has to make unpopular choices. He or she might even have enemies as a result of doing a good job. Rather than hoping or wanting for popularity, one of goals of leadership should be to establish respect.
Whether or not someone likes you or hates you, you can work like heck to make them respect you. Just remember you get back what you put out. So make sure your leadership is respectful toward others if you expect it back in return.
