Monday Morning Quarterback

Last week I wrote about the annoying backseat driver. But there’s somebody even more irritating; The Monday Morning Quarterback.

A review is at times important, even necessary. It helps gain perspective and provides learning lessons for correction. However, when the review comes after the action is over with from someone who contributed nothing to the performance … well … practice that enough times and you’ll become a great Monday Morning QB.

My advice, however, is not to remain in that sort of role for too long. Rather, get in the game, be in the action, get the hands dirty. Be a part of the good times, the mistakes and the challenges.

You can’t beat real life experience. That’s where the journey takes place. Don’t miss out by being on the sidelines too much, or spending too much time as Monday Morning Quarterback.
