Making, or Letting Things Happen

The artist makes something. The art doesn’t just happen on its own. However, things do happen even if you are doing nothing. Everything in existence throughout the entire universe is moving, and when things move something happens. You’re either participating to make things happen, or letting them happen.

To make is also to form, compose, prepare, produce, generate, construct, build, assemble and the list goes on. The opposite of making is destructing. In the middle—where things are warm and gray and can feel safe—is a place that if there for too long you will find yourself watching things happen while others are taking steps and participating in the processes that lead to better things.

Want more? Do more. Make. Don’t let.
