To be blessed, first be a blessing.

How often do we all get the order wrong when living out our lives?

Earl Nightingale pointed out how many people expect blessings like wanting heat from a furnace that requires fuel to provide that heat but are not willing to put the fuel in first. They stand there in front of the furnace waiting for the heat while the shovel and pile of coal are right next to them.

If they only did the work first, the heat would soon follow. So it is with blessings. You give, then you get. Get the priorities in order, and you become a priority.

It pays back in life to pay into other’s lives – first. One way to do that is to be a blessing. Your blessings will then come in due time.
